Somali regional leaders meet in Garowe

The leaders of Somali federal member states convened to Garowe, capital of Puntalnd administration, meeting between the leaders is to start up on Sunday in which they will discussed the security, constitution and elections in 2020, President Abdi Wali Mohamed Ali of puntland told reporters.

Council of interstate cooperation contains the five regional administrations and halted the cooperation with the government on September 8 after their third meeting held at Kismayo of Jubbland Administration, but president of Hir-shabelele state Mohamed Abdi Ware will not attend the meeting because of his cooperation with government.

The regional leaders accused federal government that it did not implemented several agreements between the states and the federal government, a claim government denied.

Upper house of Somali parliament is trying to solve the conflict between the federal and state leaders; Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi said on Saturday that they are waiting the answers from the President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and the cabinet.

The council has issued press release in which they have refused President Galmudug MPs elected on Saturday at Adado district and they accused the federal government fueling the conflict between Galmudug leaders.
