MOGADISHU —Kenyan soldiers serving under African Union peacekeeping force have allegedly shot and killed at least 3 children from same family near its border along Somalia.

Four other children also injured in the dreadful shooting after Kenyan soldiers stormed into their house in Birmiil, a small rural village near Geriley town, some 8km away from Kenya-Somali border, relatives said.

The horrific brutality came after a roadside bomb explosion ripped through an armored Kenyan personnel carrier in Birmil area, causing untold casualties.

Thursday’s shooting was described as ‘horrific one’ and a revenge for bomb attack on Kenyan military vehicle near the border along Somalia, according to relatives.

Two elderly people were among those who were shot and injured by Kenyan army forces.

Neither Kenyan military nor Somali officials have commented on the incident, which was the latest in series of atrocities committing by the Kenyan forces under African Union peacekeeping force in Somalia.

Kenya sent its troops into Somalia late 2011, in a bid to stop kidnappings against aid workers on its soil by the Somalia-based al Qaeda-linked Al-Shabab
