Kenya determined to keep soldiers in Somalia

Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta stressed that his forces are to maintain their operations in Somalia until peace and stability is achieved in the Horn of Africa.

The Kenyan president made a pledge to keep Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops deployed in Somalia and realizing peace and stability.

The president stressed: “we went to Somalia in 2011. We shall continue our presence in the country until the restoration of full security in Somalia.”

Kenyatta added “and so we will continue to maintain our presence in Somalia under AMISOM until our security objectives and those of the international community are achieved; including the restoration of peace and stability in Somalia.”
