MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire has on Thursday fired country’s deputy minister of foreign affairs over alleged corruption.
Mukhtar Mahad Da’ud, a deputy FM was sacked after accusing him of losing public funds, according Somali minister of Information, Dahir Mohamud.
Last week, Da’ud was arrested over a court warrant after Somali Police Forces launched raid at the Ministry headquarters in Mogadishu.
Meanwhile, Somalia’s Attorney General, Ahmed Ali Dahir accused Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mukhtar Mahad Da’ud of “stealing public funds” and for using office for personal interest.
The Attorney says there was 4-month long investigation into alleged corruption.
There was no word from Somali Foreign Ministry over the latest allegations
