Somalia: Foreign forces raid in Wanlaweyn

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Foreign forces, though to be from US have launched fresh attack in Wanlaweyn town, about 90 km (55 miles) to the northwest of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

The raid happened last night in the town, as the especial forces reportedly arrested at least 3 people on suspicion of Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab members, according to local media.

Risaala, a local radio based in Mogadishu, aired that the suspects were taken into Bailidogle airbase, where US military forces train Somali Especial soldiers.

Bailidogle, an airfield situated 70 miles northwest of Somali capital Mogadishu.

Somali military officials in the town were unavailable to reach on the phone for comments on the latest raid in southwest of Somalia.
