MOGADISHU, Somalia – Two school children have been killed and two others injured in road accident in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, police said.
The accident happened in the city’s Wabari area, after a speedy vehicle ran over the children, who were standing at sidewalk of the street, according to Mohamed Hussein, a police officer.
Hussein says the driver had escaped, but police soldiers arrested two other of his friends on board.
He added that the victims were taken into hospital.
The police soldiers started an operation to arrest the driver of the vehicle, who has been on run.
The incident comes at a time when major roads in Mogadishu are blocked with big stones in fear of Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab attacks
