Somalia: Parliament staff member shot dead in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Unknown gunmen, though to be Al Shabaab militants have shot and killed a Somalia’s parliament staff member in Mogadishu.

Omar DalhaMohamud, employee working at House of the People of Somalia, was gunned down by hooded men armed with pistols in Mogadishu’s Wabari district, police said.

He says another man whose name identified as Ali Abdullahi Abdi had also injured after gunmen opened a vehicle they were travelling in.

The killers fled from crime scene.

Somali security and police soldiers reached at site of shooting and launched an operation to hunt down the culprits.

But no arrests were made over the incident.

No group has so far claimed the responsibility for assassination in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
