Fierce fighting has broken out between Somali army forces and Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab fighters in Bakol region.
The battle started Elgaras when Somali army forces launched an attack on targets held by the group’s militants, triggering heavy fighting lasted for hours, according to residents.
Heavy and slight weaponries could be heard through area, as armed militants reportedly repulsed the attack.
The casualty figure of the combat remains unclear.
Neither Somali officials nor Al Shbaab commented on the skirmish so far.
