MOGADISHU – United Nation has strongly condemned deadly suicide car bomb explosion in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, leaving 4 people dead.
The explosion occurred when a car laden with explosives detonated at security checkpoint near heavily-fortified complex of Somalia’s parliament headquarters.
United Nations’ mission in Somalia condemned the Sunday’s suicide bomb attack claimed by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.
The UN extended condolences to families of victims of latest attack by violent extremists in Somali capital Mogadishu.
“The attack is “all the more abhorrent. Terrorism will never diminish resilience of Somali people”, the mission said in post on its Twitter account.
UN says “terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is “criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of its motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed.”
Sunday’s explosion was claimed by Somali-based group of Al Shabaab, which is battling Western-backed government of Somalia.
The group vowed to rump up its deadly attacks against Somali government and African Union troops’ bases and popular eateries in the capital.
The blast comes three days after at least 14 people were killed and 10 others wounded in a car bombing near the Weheliye hotel on the capital’s busy Makka Almukarramah road in Somali capital Mogadishu.
