BURDHUBO – Heavy fighting broke out between government soldiers and Al Shabaab fighters in Burdhubo town in Somalia’s Gedo region.
The battle erupted when heavily armed fighters from Al Shabaab launched an ambush attack on military bases manned by government soldiers
Burdhubo distinct commissioner, Hassan Mohamud Ali, told journalists that Somali forces had repulsed the attack, saying two militants had been killed in the gun battle.
There was no immediate response from Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group over the skirmish that happened in Burdhubo town
