MOGADISHU — Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) forces launched night operation in Mogadishu, arresting hundreds on suspecion of being Al Shabaab.
The operation took place in villages of Hodan district in the capital, according an statement issued from an office of Mayor of Mogadishu.
“It was security crackdown which was meanto to confirm the overall security of Moagadishu”, the statement reads.
Most the detainees were released and some others were taken into police station for further investigations.
The operation comes after Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo opened national security submit in Mogadishu.
