Somalia: Four soldiers injured in explosion in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU – Four government soldiers have been injured in roadside explosion in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

The explosion went off in the city’s factory venue, injuring 4 soldiers on board, a witness Hassan Mohamed said.

“I saw 4 soldiers, who were bleeding, shortly after the explosion. They were taken into hospital”, Mohamed said.

Meanwhile, Col. Mohamud Hassan Hussein, a military officer confirmed that the injuries of the military soldiers following the explosion.

Hussein accused Al Shabaab off being behind the bomb attack in Mogadishu.

“The militant group of Al Shabaab has starting using IED attacks after being weakened by our military operations”, Hussein said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Sunday’s explosion.

The Somali-based group of Al Shabaab has been carrying such attacks in and out of Mogadishu for the past months.
