Deadly explosion kills police chief in Somalia

MOGADISHU – Deadly car bomb explosion has killed a police chief in Galkacyo town in central Somalia, witness said.

The explosion happened when bomb explosives fitted into the victim’s vehicle, exploded in the town.

The victim, whose name has been identified as Ali Ibrahim Ali, better known as Ali Magafe, was on his way to the police station, he said.

In the aftermath of the explosion, police soldiers blocked at the scene of the attack, and then launched an operation.

No arrests have made over the explosion.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the Wednesday’s explosion in central Somalia.

Somali-based group of Al Shabaab carried out similar attacks in town for the past months. The group also vowed to carried out further attacks.
