Deadly shooting kills one in Bosaso protest

BOSASO – At least one person has been killed and 3 others injured by Somalia’s Puntland soldiers when hunderds of people took streets of Bosaso town.

The people were protesting agains the closure of the city’s seaport, according to particpents, who asked to be anonymous.

In phone interview with AGGM, some protesters said that they were chanting ant-slongs against Puntland president Abduweli Mohamed Ali Gaas.

“We lost one of our friends and 3 others injured intentionally by Puntland soldiers over unknown reason. We have rights to rally against everything that hurts us”, a protester said.

The Puntland security officials were unavialable to comment on the incident.

The demonstration comes afte Puntland State handed over the city’s harbor to a foreign company from United Arab Emirates.
